During our trip, we stayed in Sørengkaia and sometimes walked via the long route to central Oslo just so that we could look at the design of the buildings in the Barcode area. Nice architecture. Nice architecture to view from the street. Not a highlight of the trip though given the many other things to do but an hour stroll is fine around this area. The open spaces, the diversity in architecture as well as the accessibility and the fact that it's so close to everything make this a great visit. The music is always just right and the place is small and intimate, making rubbing shoulders with all bar-goers a part of the experience.
