Han var også muligens den første utenlandsimporten til Tromsø IL! Han har fortalt en av norsk tv-histories lengste og mest kjente historier, og han har vært trener for U, U, U og Ulandslaget! Han har vært trener for Tromsø, Tromsdalen, Rosenborg, for ikke å snakke om en spillende trener for Gratangen. Ukas gjest har verdens beste trenerutdannelse, en mastergrad i smude hjemreiser, verdens beste kallenavn, samt en doktorgrad i evig utvikling.

Han er også den eneste nordmannen som har vært trener for både herre- og kvinnelandslaget; Per-Mathias Høgmo.
